SNAP Employment & Training: The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ DHHR SNAP Employment & Training Program (SNAP E&T) is a free service available to most SNAP participants who want to increase their skills and knowledge and reduce their need for SNAP. All SNAP E&T participants receive a coach who will help navigate each person’s individual goals. SNAP E&T can help with:
  • Applying for in-demand jobs
  • Gaining a high school equivalency or navigating the FASFA
  • Developing a plan that focuses on achieving short-term and long-term goals
  • Resources to overcome barriers
  • Pre-employment skills
  • Paid on-the-job training opportunities
  • Industry-recognized apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship programs
  • Paid short-term trainings that lead to high-wage employment
