Where Your Donation Goes

Every donation to West Virginia Women Work goes to helping women earn a living wage allowing them to become financially independent. One way this is accomplished is through participation in our Step Up for Women Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program where women learn essential skills to prepare, find, and keep a job. Donations are used to purchase materials the students will use in class when learning carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills. They are used to provide tool belts and hand tools to graduates so they are prepared to enter the workforce. We use donations to provide work boots for students that cannot afford them otherwise. Donations go towards paying union dues for graduates that get accepted into apprenticeship programs. We try to do whatever we can to reduce or eliminate any barriers for our students that could prevent them from starting a new career. Without your support, this wouldn’t be possible.
