Position Summary

The Bookkeeper & Office Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of WVWW. This position plays a key role in maintaining organized financial records, supporting payroll and grant tracking processes, managing office operations, and helping ensure the organization runs smoothly and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

1. Bookkeeping & Financial Support

JOB TITLE: Training Coordinator – Step Up for Women Construction Program

OVERALL FUNCTION: The Training Coordinator is a full-time regular position responsible for teaching all soft skills classes and serving as the first point of contact for Step Up for Women Construction program participants. This role encompasses recruitment, training coordination, student relationship management, and program support to ensure the success of participants and the program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participant Recruitment and Engagement

Recruitment Activities:

  • Recruit training program participants.
  • Track applicant information in an applicant spreadsheet.

This role serves as the central operational hub for the program—managing participant flow, partner coordination, scheduling, documentation, and data tracking to ensure high-quality delivery of workforce training and career exploration for individuals in recovery and re-entry programs.

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Skilled Trades Instructor and Career Coach to ensure participants receive consistent support, timely training, and clear next steps toward employment readiness.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate all project activities, schedules, and timelines for the Step Up for Recovery Workforce Project.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner organizations, including recovery centers, re-entry programs, and workforce agencies.

Skilled Trades Instructor (Full-Time)

The Skilled Trades Instructor is a full-time position responsible for delivering all technical training for the Step Up for Recovery Workforce Project. This role provides hands-on and virtual instruction, oversees credential testing, and ensures high-quality, consistent delivery of workforce training for individuals in recovery and re-entry programs.

The Instructor will deliver hands-on training in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing fundamentals and support self-paced virtual instruction through WV Women Work’s Interplay Learning platform (training for virtual platform & simulator will be provided). Training may occur at WVWW offices, partner organization sites, or other approved locations across the state. Hands-on instruction may include simulator-based training and workshop-style sessions with groups of up to 20 participants.

The Skilled Trades Instructor is responsible for maintaining training equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting in the development and refinement of training modules aligned with industry standards and employer needs. The position works closely with the Career Coach and Program Coordinator to coordinate participant progress, schedule training sessions, and support individualized re-entry and employment plans.

In addition, the Instructor will collaborate with local unions, contractors, apprenticeship programs, and construction companies to support workforce entry pathways, referrals, and alignment with regional labor demand.

This position operates on a flexible schedule and may include a combination of remote work, office-based work, and travel to partner sites to deliver mobile training.

Qualifications:

Job Title: Skilled Trades Instructor, Contract Position, Long-term

Position Reports to: Program Coordinator

Overall Function: The Skilled Trades Instructor is a part-time contract position, 12 weeks twice a year, for our construction training program in Westover, WV. The Skilled Trades Instructor is responsible for planning and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that teaches students tool and building basics. Expertise in carpentry, electrical, and/or plumbing trades (or any combination) is required, and teaching experience is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

• plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

• establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

• prepare building site and classroom for class activities

• provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities

• identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs

• instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment

• use relevant technology to support instruction

• observe and evaluate student’s performance and development

• assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments

• provide appropriate feedback on work

• encourage and monitor the progress of individual students

General Expectations

• Spend most of the class time doing hands-on learning. Spend three hours or less each week reviewing the course books. Assign reading at home and spend class time reviewing end-of-chapter and student questions.

• Class time is to take place outdoors, including book review, as much as possible. Inclement weather does not constitute holding classes indoors. Only risk of injury warrants indoor classes.

Topic Requirements

Safety- Before beginning each portion of the program (carpentry, electrical wiring, and plumbing) teach two hours of specialized safety information pertaining to that topic prior to any hands-on coursework.

Carpentry- Curriculum should include a practice project like building picnic tables or saw horses, building/project planning with the class, creating a materials list, standard wood sizes, Pythagorean theorem, 3 4 5 methods for squaring, residential building practices and materials, rough framing, roofing, exterior siding, hanging doors, building stairs, reading a tape measure, hand and power tools, personal protective equipment, subject math, etc.

Electrical- basic electrical terminology and vocabulary, hand and power tools, types of wire and uses, types of receptacles, types of fixtures, one-way and two-way switches (three- and four-way switches for more advanced students), subject math, etc.

Plumbing- basic plumbing terminology and vocabulary, hand and power tools, types of materials used and their purpose, different methods of plumbing, subject math, etc.
