West Virginia Women Work Launches SkillUp: A Free Program Empowering Women Through Essential Career Skills

For Immediate Release

West Virginia Women Work, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women in West Virginia earn a living wage, is thrilled to announce the launch of SkillUp, a free program aimed at equipping women with essential career skills. The inaugural classes are set to begin in December.

About SkillUp

SkillUp is designed as a condensed version of the organization’s renowned Step Up for Women Pre-Apprenticeship programs. The SkillUp program focuses on imparting invaluable skills such as resume writing, budgeting & credit management, communication, goal setting, and more. The program is open to all women and aims to be inclusive and flexible, with classes scheduled for mornings and afternoons during the first week and evenings in the second week.

Generous Support Makes SkillUp Free for All

Thanks to a generous grant from one of our esteemed partners, SkillUp is completely free and open to all women. “We are incredibly grateful for the support that makes this program accessible to everyone,” said Carol Phillips, Executive Director.

Why SkillUp is Essential

In today’s competitive job market, possessing a well-rounded skill set is more crucial than ever. SkillUp aims to fill this gap by offering a comprehensive curriculum that not only enhances employability but also empowers women to take control of their careers and lives.
