SNAP Employment & Training:
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ DHHR SNAP Employment & Training Program (SNAP E&T) is a free service available to most SNAP participants who want to increase their skills and knowledge and reduce their need for SNAP. All SNAP E&T participants receive a coach who will help navigate each person’s individual goals.
SNAP E&T can help with:
- Applying for in-demand jobs
- Gaining a high school equivalency or navigating the FASFA
- Developing a plan that focuses on achieving short-term and long-term goals
- Resources to overcome barriers
- Pre-employment skills
- Paid on-the-job training opportunities
- Industry-recognized apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship programs
- Paid short-term trainings that lead to high-wage employment
