West Virginia Women Work is excited to announce the PartnerUp Mentoring Program. PartnerUp is a 6-month mentoring program for women working to overcome barriers in their education and employment. The program is designed for unemployed or underemployed women that want to explore education and employment opportunities. Women that enroll in the program will be assigned a mentor from our organization that will work with them to create a customized plan that identifies barriers, education goals, and job possibilities while networking and building connections.
Mentors will meet with mentees monthly in-person or virtually to work on connecting with outside resources such as obtaining an HSE (formally GED), expungement, obtaining a driver’s license, and more. WV Women Work staff will also schedule short, weekly check-ins with mentees to keep their plan moving forward and empower them in their success. Our goal is to help women achieve their education and employment goals by providing empowerment and an avenue to explore possibilities. Mentees can also attend WV Women Work trainings for free.
Our goal with the PartnerUp Mentoring Program is to empower women and connect them with the resources for success. We hope that successful mentees will continue to work with the program by becoming mentors. The PartnerUp Mentoring program is a part of our Women’s Resource Empowerment Network (WREN) and is an opportunity to enact genuine change in the lives of women by offering support for their education, employment, and economic equity. The PartnerUp Mentoring Program is open to all adult women in West Virginia.
