ROLE WITH WEST VIRGINIA WOMEN WORK
The Regional Coordinator is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and management of the Step Up for Women Construction Pre-Apprenticeship training program and additional regional initiatives. This includes overseeing day-to-day program operations, community engagement, business development, recruitment, and partnership building to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of West Virginia Women Work’s mission. The Regional Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.
- Oversee daily operations of regional workforce programs, ensuring program effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, unions, and local businesses to identify job placement and apprenticeship opportunities for graduates
- Build partnerships with community organizations, workforce offices, and government agencies to strengthen recruitment pipelines and support participant success
- Conduct outreach presentations at schools, career fairs, and community events to recruit new participants and promote WV Women Work programs
- Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to conduct interviews, complete cohort schedules, and support participant progress throughout training
- Provide mentorship, career coaching, and individual guidance to students and alumni, including monthly check-ins and follow-up after graduation
- Organize and lead alumni engagement activities, including social media participation and regional alumni events
- Support SkillUp soft skills initiatives, organizing and hosting at least one soft skills training each year
- Assist in grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement efforts to sustain and expand regional programming
- Support marketing and outreach efforts by providing program updates, success stories, and photos for newsletters, social media, and reports
- Represent WV Women Work at community meetings, industry events, and conferences to advocate for workforce development opportunities
- Conduct needs assessments and identify opportunities to expand or develop new regional programs and initiatives
- Monitor program data and prepare reports on activities, outcomes, and financials for the Executive Director
- Manage regional program budgets, purchase training and office materials, and ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting
