A Community United: The Collective Impact of WVWW’s Supporters and Partners

At West Virginia Women Work (WVWW), our mission thrives because of the unwavering support of our donors, partners, and students. This year, their combined efforts have transformed not just our organization but also the communities we serve. Together, they’ve shown what’s possible when a community unites for a shared purpose: building careers, building communities, and creating lasting impact.

Southern West Virginia: Building a Hub for Growth

One of the highlights of this year has been the purchase of our new training center building in southern West Virginia. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the generous Gable Grant from Lowe’s Foundation and the dedication of countless partners. From installing electricity and plumbing to repairing leaks and restoring warmth to the space, so many people came together to bring this vision to life.

Our southern WV Step Up for Women Construction students played a pivotal role in this transformation. Guided by our dedicated staff, they rolled up their sleeves and gained invaluable real-world, hands-on training. These students worked tirelessly on renovations, tackling everything from painting and landscaping to carpentry and plumbing. Their grit and determination not only helped restore this historic space but also laid the foundation for a brighter future for our programs and the community.

North Central West Virginia: Giving Back Through Action

Meanwhile, our Step Up for Women Construction students in North Central West Virginia demonstrated the power of giving back. As part of their training, these students engaged in meaningful volunteer projects that allowed them to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. By working on community improvement projects, they didn’t just build their portfolios; they strengthened bonds with local organizations and made a tangible difference in their community.

These projects were more than just opportunities for learning—they were experiences that showed how skilled trades can be a force for good, creating lasting impact far beyond the classroom.

A Community of Resilience and Collaboration

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our supporters and the collaboration of our partners. From those who donated time and resources to those who believed in our mission and offered their unwavering encouragement, every contribution has mattered. The achievements of this year are a testament to the power of community, resilience, and shared purpose.

As we continue to grow and expand, we remain deeply grateful for every individual and organization that has helped us along the way. Together, we are not just building careers; we are creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.

Thank you to all who have supported WVWW this year. Your belief in our mission inspires us to keep moving forward. Here’s to continuing to build careers and communities—together.
