Everyone talks about getting people into apprenticeships. But what happens before that? What prepares someone to succeed once they’re there?
Pre-apprenticeship is often misunderstood as basic training, but it’s so much more than that. At WVWW, we prepare students to succeed not just in the classroom, but in the real world.
We teach things that seem small on paper but make all the difference on a jobsite: how to take feedback without shutting down. How to keep going when the work gets tough. How to show up five minutes early with your gear ready.
Students also learn hands-on skills in carpentry, welding, electrical, plumbing, and more. But they’re also learning how to be dependable, ask for help, and take pride in a job well done. Those habits carry through an entire career.
By the time they walk into an apprenticeship, our students aren’t guessing anymore. They’re ready. And when someone starts strong, they stay strong.
