Give clear categories scored 1–5: • Attendance • Participation • Respectful behavior • Communication (tone + clarity + response time) • Teamwork • Tool safety & competence • Progress on soft skills assignments Share ratings verbally and record in your notes
Ask student “If a hiring manager saw your performance right now, what would they think?” “What would make them excited to hire you? What would worry them?”
Ask student “Are you leaning toward carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or something else?” “Why? What experiences have informed that choice so far?”
If there were issues, do: • Name the behavior • Explain the impact • Tie it to jobsite safety/expectations • Set concrete corrective goals, If NO issues: • Reinforce strengths • Give next-level challenges (lead a team, help a peer, support cleanup crew, assist on stations, etc.)
